HELLO!! My name is Cecilia (or Ceci/李静怡/סיסיליה/סיסי) depending on which era of life you know me from?)

I started this blog in high school when I was an avid blog reader, but I kept it private because honestly I felt like other people reading what I wrote made whatever I wrote worse.

These days, I’m traveling and studying in random countries pretty far from family, so I’ve un-privated this thing. This is the slightly more modern version of chain emails, right?

I’m from Colorado, but I attended The University of Alabama (roll tide), where I’m majored in Electrical Engineering.

In Fall 2019, I studied in Chengdu, China for a semester with USAC. This was my first time being out of America for more than a few weeks. I loved it (and I struggled with it).

In Spring (2020), I studied in Haifa, Israel. After that, I planned to travel until I ran out of money. Of course, due to Spring 2020 I had to pivot. I came back to America and spent a wonderful and nostalgic month (harkening back to the homeschool days) at home with my family before setting off on an ever-so-slightly illegal road trip to all the places no one was going yet.

After it became apparent that I would not be able to use my savings to go back abroad, I took the opportunity to intern at Spring Canyon Retreat and Conference Center in Colorado. After my nine-month internship, I worked as Senior Outdoor Guide for the summer. Then, Spring Canyon hired me full time as Head of Housekeeping and Guest Services (a perfect fit for my EE degree! 😉 )

In Summer 2023 I’m ending my wonderful time at Spring Canyon as a full-time staff member and moving to Jerusalem for three months to volunteer at a Catholic Pilgrim House. After that…
